Despite the desire of the United States to deprive Huawei of access to American technology, the Chinese company is doing everything so that it does not affect its users. This, in particular, confirms the readiness of Huawei to start updating its smartphones to Android Q immediately after its official release. At the same time, as it turned out, the update will be available on several devices of the brand at once, and not only on Huawei Mate 20 Pro whose owners were admitted to the preliminary testing program.
Android Q for Huawei smartphones will be released as part of EMUI’s proprietary shell number 10.0. Despite the fact that the release date of the update remains a secret, you can evaluate its appearance now.
Android Q for Huawei
It can be seen from the screenshots that Huawei did not seriously redesign the appearance of EMUI, obviously focusing on its functHuawei smartphones still get Android Qionality. At least in its current state, EMUI 10 is not much different from the current EMUI 9.1, offering the same design code and the same layout of elements of the operating system.
But Huawei worked on the security of EMUI and integrated a number of functions in the firmware aimed at protecting users and their privacy. For example, in the test version of the update, a mechanism to prohibit tracking movements in the background is already available. Thanks to him, applications can receive data about your location only in an active state, while when minimized, the corresponding privilege will be blocked for him.
The only external change to EMUI 10 that immediately catches your eye is support for the night theme, which dims not only the interface elements but also the desktop. As a result, even the Google search bar becomes dark grey. In addition, the interface of the regular Camera application has slightly changed, but the changes turned out to be so insignificant that they can be safely neglected.
Which Huawei smartphones will get Android Q
Huawei is expected to upgrade to at least 10 smartphones to Android Q. These will include not only the flagship models of the current generation but also the previous ones: Huawei P30 / P30 Pro, Mate 20 / Mate 20 Pro, Huawei P20 / P20 Pro, Honor 20/20 Pro, Honor 10 and others. But, in general, we can expect that the company will release an update for all devices that have been released over the past two years. True, most likely, this process will drag on for several months, and maybe even for a year.
